Information about our packaging

marzo 8th, 2012

Model Color, Model Air, Game Color

The first range of Model Color was presented in 1992, and since then we have been using the same 17 ml. bottle, common in the pharmaceutical industry. The choice of this bottle was very successful and over the years other brands of paint have been introduced with the same or very alike packaging. The similar appearance of these other product lines is causing some confusion about the identity of the manufacturer. For this reason, since 2005 all colors marketed by Vallejo are presented with our name and logo imbedded in the base of the bottle. This logo warrants that the contents are manufactured by Acrylicos Vallejo.

vallejo guarantee

The identification of the manufacturer is very important. The products manufactured by our company have been qualified as conforming to the European standards CE, EN71/3 and REACH, and to the USA certification ASTM, which guarantee our compliance with these norms established for the safety of the user as well as of the environment.

PREMIUM – Acrylic Polyurethane Color

Step by Step by Juanjo Baron

The painting of the helmet is carried out in two parts, the first being the graphic design, where we apply the fluorescent and metallic colors – the consistency of these allows us to work with a tip size of 0.3mm on the general patterns and hues, Drying time is fairly quick if the paint is applied in fine coats, and once dry it responds really well to contact with adhesive materials such as masking tapes, etc. without the need for the use of intermediate varnishes.

For the second part, the artistic image of the skull, we use the basic colors which allow working with much more detail, they respond perfectly to high dilutions without losing color strength; the color black for example allows working with one drop of color to 15/20 of Reducer for painting in black and white, obtaining thus various shades of grey and varying the compressor pressure from 30-60 psi (2-4 bar) depending on the detail desired.

1. We prepare the helmet for airbrushing with White Primer 62.061 and then begin to spray the color Green Fluo 62.039 in the areas which should be left outlined with this color in the final design.
2. Next we place the 3mm. masking tape following the outline.
3. We spray a dilution of
Orange Fluo 62.033 and Golden Yellow Fluo 62.032 for the next outline. Read the rest of this entry »
